The Deron School has two pieces of great news to share. The first great piece of news is that there are open slots at The Deron School for students ages 3-21 and the second is that we are announcing a terrific continuum of education between our two campuses, with the addition of a pre-school program at our Union campus.
Moving forward, Deron’s Union Campus will serve students ages 3-16, while our Montclair Campus will serve students, ages 14-21. Our team believes this change will ensure learners can benefit from the programmatic strengths each location has to offer.
With campuses in Union and Montclair, New Jersey, The Deron School offers a state-approved private school program for students with multiple disabilities and autism spectrum disorder. Since 1967, The Deron School has created and provided a nurturing, welcoming, and educational environment and a personalized curriculum. We pride ourselves on our sensitive care, skilled teams, and unique educational methods that optimize the experience and results of our students.
Serving students living in Union, Essex, Hudson, Bergen, Somerset, and Middlesex counties, among others, The Deron School believes that education does not end after exiting the classroom. For over fifty years we have taught life skills, worked closely with families, and offered unique Transition/ Bridge programs so students are ready on a holistic level come graduation at age 21. This ensures our students can lead successful, productive lives as contributing members of their communities. Each day, our students discover talents, cultivate strengths, and conquer challenges to fulfill dreams.
Our staff is integral in these students’ growths. Many of our educators have been at our private special needs school for ten or fifteen years — some more — and they have been gifted with multiple Ruth K. Newman Awards for Excellence from the Council of Private Schools for Children with Special Needs. These plaques, noting past and present winners, proudly appear in our campus’ offices.
We like to say that when the home district cannot provide the right combination of services for a student, The Deron School — as a leading, private school in New Jersey rich in programs serving students on the autism spectrum — should be your first call. We offer comprehensive open houses so you can get to know our staff, campuses, and philosophies. If you are looking for trusted care, tried and true educational methods, and a secure campus for your children, we hope you’ll come visit The Deron School. Stop by, we are happy to set up a conversation — call our offices at (908) 206–0444 or go to our admissions page. We would love to get to know you and your child and discuss how The Deron School can best serve their education.
